Crime Details:A Burglary/Criminal Trespass/Simple Assault and Theft was reported to University Police on October 10, 2015 at approximately 5:52 pm. The reported incidents occurred on October 10, 2015, between 5:30 and 5:45 pm, on the third and fifth floors of Brumbaugh Hall, located in the East Halls complex. One victim, a student, reported an unknown female was discovered inside her 5th floor residence and attempted to steal clothing and cash. After confronting the suspect in the hallway, the victim was physically assaulted (hair pulled and finger bitten), receiving minor injuries. Cash and an article of clothing were recovered but a jumper suit is missing. The female suspect was also observed inside a 3rd floor residence but no items are missing. Officers searched Brumbaugh Hall and were unable to locate the suspect. Location Description: The incident reportedly occurred in residence hall rooms on the third and fifth floors of Brumbaugh Hall located in the East Halls complex. The East Halls complex is located in the north eastern portion of campus, adjacent to Curtin Road and Bigler Road. Appearance of suspect is reported to be: Race: Black Sex: Female Height: 5'4"-5'8" Weight: Average build Hair Color: Long Black Dreadlocks With a Ponytail Eye Color: Unknown Age: 18-24 Additional Description: Last seen wearing a blue or purple dress and a white romper around her thighs. Last seen carrying a pair of black high heeled shoes Safety Tips: Leave a small light on to give the illusion that you are home. Keep doors and windows locked. Report inoperable locks and latches to the appropriate maintenance personnel. Report all suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities to your University Police department immediately. Don't compromise your safety for a roommate or friend who wants the door left unlocked. Do not admit strangers into your residence hall. It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated with the University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
