Crime Details:Forcible Sex Offense-unknown TIMELY WARNING Possible Threat to the Community “Your Right to Know” Report date: Wednesday, March 04, 2015 "This warning addresses a report of sexual misconduct. Resources are available on and off campus to provide assistance. Visit www.psu.edu/hotlines for support." Incident number: PSU201500914 Reported offense: A indecent assault was reported to University Police on March 4, 2015 at 10:37 a.m. The reported assault occurred on March 2, 2015 at approximately 4:15 p.m near the southwest corner of the Health and Human Development Building. The Health and Human Development Building is located on the south edge of campus just north of the 200 block of East College Avenue. The victim, a student reported an unknown male pushed her against a construction fence outside that building and inappropriately touched her neck, face, and chest. Location of incident: University Park Location description: The reported assault occurred near the southwest corner of the Health and Human Development Building. The Health and Human Development Building is located on the south edge of campus just north of the 200 block of East College Avenue. Description of suspect(s): The suspect was described as a male, late 20's or early 30's, unknown ethnicity, with dark hair and dark eyes, approximately 6' 2" tall with an average build. The suspect was wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans. Safety tips: Keep doors and windows locked. Report inoperable locks and latches to the appropriate maintenance personnel. Do not accept rides or walking accompaniment from people you don't know well or trust. Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, get to a safe place and call for help. Report all suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities to your University Police department immediately. Tell someone you trust your destination and planned time of return. Do not admit strangers into your residence hall. Sexual Assault is a second degree felony in the state of PA. Sentencing can include up to 10 years in prison, fines, and psychiatric treatment. Perpetrators are responsible for sexual assaults. Perpetrators take advantage of vulnerability and seek opportunities to commit sexual assaults. It can be assumed that conditions that continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated to the University of possible peril at the hands at some third party or parties.
