Crime Details:REPORTED OFFENSE: Attempted Rape/Sexual Assault was reported to University Police on August 31, 2014 at 8:13 AM. The reported assault occurred on August 30/ 31, 2014 between 11:41PM and 1:02 AM, in the University’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park known as at between 11:41 PM and 1:02 AM, Saturday/Sunday, August 30/31, 2014. Location of the incident is in the area of Porter Road and Curtin Road intersection close to Beaver Stadium. SUSPECTS: The suspect, a possible visitor, is described as 19 to 20 years of age, white male slender build and taller in height, with unknown hair color. Suspect was wearing a dark color stripped shirt with a breast pocket on the right side. The victim, a, visitor, reported that sometime between August 30/ 31, 2014 between 11:41PM and 1:02 AM the victim reported that she was approached by an unknown male who inquired if she was alright. She recalled being pulled from a bench in the area of the baseball field, she blacked out. She next recalls waking up with her clothes off. She gathered her clothing and ran back to downtown State College. It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties. *Please remember: to use the buddy system when walking late at night, walk in well lighted areas, Avoid traveling alone at night.
