Crime Details:TIMELY NOTIFICATION Possible Threat to the Community “Your Right to Know” October 29, 2012 In compliance with the “Timely Notice” prevision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police are giving notice of a disturbing act of violence reported to have occurred near the intersection of College Avenue and Atherton Street in the borough of State College. REPORTED OFFENSE: An aggravated assault was reported to have occurred near the intersection of College Avenue and Atherton Street in the borough of State College at approximately 2:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012. SUSPECTS: The victim was unable to provide any information on the suspect/s. The victim, a student, was walking at the above location when he was struck once in the face which rendered him unconscious. It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties. *Do not walk alone, please call 814-865-WALK (814-865-9255), for an escort *Notify police immediately if you see any suspicious activity Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact State College Police at (814)234-7150; Penn State University Police at (814)863-1111 or Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99-CRIME* (1-877-992-7463) Callers may remain anonymous or may visit the Penn State University Police Silent Witness Web Site at: http://www.police.psu.edu/witness (*Persons providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1000.00)
