Crime Details:On Saturday, May 7, 2011, at approximately 2:25 a.m. the State College Police responded to the corner of Calder Way and Hiester Street for a report of a male who was unconscious and bleeding from the back of the head. Witnesses reported that the victim a 28 year old male from New York appeared intoxicated and was observed in the Garner Street pay parking lot in the corner closest to the Hiester Street and Calder Way leaning a vehicle. The witnesses reported that two males walking west on Calder Way observed the victim leaning against the vehicle. The witnesses reported that the two males began to take pictures of the victim. One of the males described as being Hispanic, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” with a thin build and short dark hair wearing shorts and a t-shirt began to argue with the victim and then jumped over the chain link fence in the parking lot and hit the victim in the face knocking him to the ground. Another male in the group described as a black male with dark skin, approximately 6’ and 200 lbs, wearing a white with blue horizontal striped button down shirt and black baseball hat on backwards stood over the victim and hit the victim in the head while he was on the ground. The suspect’s then fled the area running west on Calder Way towards Locust Lane. The victim was transported to the Mount Nittany Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The victim was then life-flighted to the Geisinger Medical Center. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. The State College Police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who can identify the suspects call the Police Department at 814-234-7150 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 877-992-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and a reward is being offered for information.
