Crime Details:State College Police still seeking suspects in melee after Ohio State game How to help Police are asking for help identifying several more suspects seen in photographs on the borough’s Web site, http://www.statecollegepa.us/index.asp?NID=1054. “I’m sorry to say this is the fourth time we’ve had to do this since 1998,” State College Capt. Dana Leonard said. “The first round may or may not be the most serious charges. As the investigation proceeds, more arrests will come.” After the Oct. 25 Penn State football victory over Ohio State, thousands of people converged into the 300 block of East Beaver Avenue, the downtown area known as Beaver Canyon. Light poles, road signs, shrubbery and other items were damaged and thrown. Hundreds of people were pepper-sprayed after ignoring orders to leave. Police identified these people in the first round of arrests of those responsible for the disturbance, based on identification confiscated at the scene and video surveillance. “I need to say that this time we’ve had a significant amount of help from the public,” Leonard said. Police are asking for help identifying several more suspects seen in photographs on the borough’s Web site, http://www.statecollegepa.us/index.asp?NID=1054. Anyone with information is asked to submit tips on the site, or call police at 234-7150, or Crimestoppers at 1-877-992-7436 or at http://www.centrecountycrimestoppers.org/
